For Teachers

Recess requires each course offering (or cohort) to be set to a specific timezone. This ensures automatic adjustments for time-related changes, like Daylight Savings Time (DST). Therefore, cohort timezone should be set to match the timezone of the primary instructor of the offering. Example:<ul> <li> Your cohort is scheduled for 12:00 PM on Wednesdays, in the America/New_York timezone (U.S. Eastern Time). </li> <li> U.S. Eastern Time observes DST from March 10, 2024, to November 3, 2024. Since the cohort is “pinned” to 12:00 PM Eastern Time, it will always occur at 12:00 PM in that timezone, regardless of DST. </li> </ul>Impact on Other Timezones:<ul> <li> For a participant in Tokyo (Japan/Tokyo), where DST is not observed, the session time will shift by one hour when U.S. DST is active.<ul> <li> March 6, 2024: The cohort occurs at 2:00 AM Tokyo time. </li> <li> ... For example, advertising a Discord group or offline chat group. </li> <li> Do not share personal information about yourself or others without consent. </li> <li> Use our systems responsibly (unless you're doing something cool). Hackers, please apply for our engineering department instead. </li> <li> Be yourself - no impersonating other users, staff members, or official entities. </li> <li> Don’t be disruptive in conversations, classes or events. Consider it a gentle nudge back onto the right path. </li> <li> Second Strike: Time for a short break. You might lose some privileges for 3-7 days. </li> <li> Third Strike: If you still can't play nice, we might have to show you the door. Indefinitely. Community Code of Conduct

<h1 id="6r46q3a2qkm" data-toc-id="6r46q3a2qkm">Who is eligible to be a referee/invitee?</h1>Any family new to Recess is eligible to receive a referral bonus by using an eligible referral link or code. Existing users are not eligible to be referees/invitees.Referrers may not create duplicate accounts or refer themselves in order to receive a referral or referree bonus in the form of Recess credits. In its sole discretion, Recess may refuse to grant a referral bonus to any referee/invitee or referrer who violates these terms or any other terms of service.Recess reserves the right to set limits on the number of referral bonuses that may be earned.<h1 id="l01x5pq8rii" data-toc-id="l01x5pq8rii">How do I earn my bonus as a referrer/inviter?</h1>To earn a referral bonus, you must share your unique referral link or code with a new family. When the new family signs up for Recess using your referral link or code, and makes a purchase or enrolls and pays for a program, you will receive a referral bonus.
