Allow for student art to replace AI generated challenge art

Any art for the challenge cover - students should be able to submit properly sized images.  Students should be able to do this as a challenge submission for a challenge that can be done repeatedly to gain XP/coins. Template for the challenge is being drafted currently.

Bring back Rocky's old voice

I don’t really like Rocky’s new voice, since it sounded like I was wlaking into a castle, while the old Rocky sounded much more welcoming.

Can the bot icon sleep?

The bot’s eyes keep moving, and it's distracting in a way that I haven't habituated to. I get that you want it to stand out from the other icons (though I'm not sure why), but can it at least be faded/sleeping by default, until I tap on it?

Coin values

Thanks for mostly restoring the coin values, but the values of the coins on the challenges and store are still not quite right. I remember the exact previous values and I'm happy to tell you what they were. There are many 50-coin challenges that are now worth 100, and also lots of the profile rings that previously cost 50 coins and now cost 100. An additional point that I made before that I made before is that the coins of the todos should have some relation to the difficulty of the task. For example, an hour on Math Academy should make sense to give 100 coins, but a few minutes of scrolling through a discovery activity or watching a video should probably not be more than 20 coins.

For recess village-sloane

Can you add the ability to have/add your own backgrounds in recess village. Blurring the background only works 50%. I would like to completely hide my background. This is less important but could you make a feature where if you host a club and you have a house for said club you are able to build within said space. It would be nice to decorate your club room to make it different.

Change notification settings for all chats in settings instead of having to manually do each one

I already did mine but I’m in so many chats so if I wanted to change it back I’d have to go back and set each one to all notifications or if I wanted to set it to no notifications I’d have to do that too

Rooms Annotations auto disappearing toggle AKA- Disable Disintegration of Delicious Destructible Drawings

The host of a RECESS ROOM should have a toggle button in the Host Controls or wherever for whether annotations disintegrate themselves after like 5 SECONDS. Credit to YABC for this suggestion i dont remember who

200 Volume settings

In recess rooms there should be a 200% Volume setting, 2x louder than normal.

Welcome message

Maybe when you join a class, it could say something like, “Welcome to [Class name], [kid’s name]! Say hello to the other kids in your cohort, and to [Teacher’s name], your host!” Or if there’s only one kid and can say their name, something like that.

Share Design View thing-o-tron 3000

A button in the design view that would pop up a little thing in the bottom left of people’s screens that says “[Theo P.] would like to share a view with you” and a checkmark and X button, X would just make the popup go away, and the checkmark would take the design view that i had when i clicked the button and put it on the person who clicked the checkmark’s screen too ALSO GUIDES NEED TO BE ABLE TO SHARE THEIR VIEW Christophantom asked me to make this a seperate request so i did

Project buttons

PI think it would be really cool if projects could have buttons and code to make them interactive. Projects are already a good way to share stuff you make, but being able to actually interact with them would make them way more useful. For example, you could make a game, quiz, calculator, interactive story, website, animation. ( someone could make a math quiz and then add a calculator) There could just be a button you can add to a project, and then you could choose what happens when someone clicks it. Eventually you could have actual code for more complicated stuff. It would basically let people make small interactive things directly inside Recess instead of just showing them. i think this would be especially cool for people who like coding because you could actually make something other people can use/play instead of just posting screenshots or a finished project. Some ideas for it: Add more parts than buttons, maybe add simple shapes that can be resized, text displays etc Maybe link them to sound effects (see post below) Add different buttons/switches, maybe a slider or something. Add UI Displays so people can make video games inside of recess, this would be really cool but probably excessive. The coding should probably be done manually so it doesn’t use up money to run an AI bot. And if someone wanted to vib code it they would just get their own AI. This might take a while to make and isn’t necessary so probably put it in cool idea, fix later.

Make it so that you can use Markdown syntax for messages, as I want to be able to use bold and italic in my messages

Village showcase halls for each project tag

we know projects will have tags eventually. and we know that Village has some nice features. The Idea: when a project gets some traction it confirms with the creator to add it to a showcase hall of that projects tag. some showcase hall examples are: "The Arcade” for “Game Dev” tagged projects, “The Museum” could have various segments for various “Art” as well as maybe “Engineering”, there could be “The Library” for “Book” or “Story” (?). yell at me in the feedback meeting if not understand

User features in live streams

A marker system - user can click a button to leave a marker at a certain time stamp, they can go back later and label them An engagement system - shows which part of the video gets the most reactions/comments etc A clipping system - a button that pops a window showing the previous few minutes or seconds of the live stream then you can select what time period to clip, name it and it creates a link of the recess live stream clip. (just a fun little idea i had in juggling club with Daniel and Jayden)

A way to link up feature base notifications with recess notifications.

Is there a way to do this? some people submit feature requests but don’t ever see any comments on their feature requests, and it just sits there “awaiting response”.

Tags on projects?

Maybe when you comment on projects it can show your tag, or when you like a project, when people view who liked it and see you’re profile, they see your tag, like Recess Ambassador, or Hamartian or something?

Notification mark

A “red dot” on the corner of the tab when there is a new message or notification. Si you don’t have to keep on checking in and out of any other sites to check.

Just a few requests

Maybe we should have a trading system, where you pay a small fee to trade with people, then you can trade stickers, backgrounds, village items, and more, all within a 1 month of purchase. We should have a refund policy for store items, like maybe you don’t really like a profile ring/background, or an item from the village, you should be able to refund that within a few weeks/months. We also need a physical store building in the village, where all the items are displayed there, and there’s a mirror where you can try items on to see if you like them before you buy them, but if you can’t do that, then maybe in UI of the shop, when you click an item you character equips it, only for you, just so that you can see what you look like wearing it. Discounts on the recess store, every few weeks, a special event, or when something new is added to the shop, the can get a small discount.

Project sound effects

Custom sound effects or songs that play when you get to certain parts of a project, maybe you can buy them in the shop, or upload them from a file. Or text to speech narration for projects. how it would be used: Someone writing a book could turn their project into an audio book. Someone showcasing something could add music or sound effects to make it more engaging. People who have hard time reading can listen to projects instead of reading them If someone wanted to upload their music it would be easier to upload it. If someone were making a comic they could also add narration and sound effects just like an audiobook.

Design View Improvements

Design View is honestly one of my favorite recent recess features. Theres just so much you can do with it. Past doing funnys like making everyone planets or rabbits or Isa Vs Scarlett the Battle For Heck: Ultimate, theres things like multi-screenshares, making people bigger, and various conveniences. But theres still some things missing: First of all, fix the error 500s. I dont know what causes them, what they mean, or anything. But they’re errors. Bug report, ig. The big one: JS. The ai should be able to run SANDBOXED javascript. Outside of the goofy stuff, this could be used to make you able to drag people around, and such. Sandboxing is important so i cant ask it to give me 1 billion coins or like delete the recess database. Also make you able to upload images and it can use them (not that necessary) Someone in teen hour dont know who suggested a Redo button to come with Undo, so you can just keep going back and forth. If you do this, you should probably put any new changes directly in front of the version being modified, like this: —1—2—3—4—5—6— is the line of undos/redos, where the numbers are in creation order. If you go back to 5, make a new version based off of it, then the line should be this: —1—2—3—4—5—7—6— I think this is enough detail.

A way to access everyone in recess

So you can friend request anyone or see like that. Ive seen a few people i cant find on any of my community channels, and i wanna chat with them. So make there be a way to look up anyone in recess please.

Poll makers should be able to see what other people have voted before the poll ends maybe some easier challenges. they may be less coins. but at least they are easy! maybe like a challenge for building a house in minecraft. when you like a project. i want a tab where you can see what you have liked. i am making a recess interview. and sasha suggestion this: recess pls bring nicknames back and a report button and/or block button

some of the challenges require you to not show the answers like the spider web starweaver one, so what if guides were able to edit projects that did show the answers?

Dark Mode/Reading Accessibility

The ability to change the text size and switch to a "dark mode" within the Recess browser for IXL - she grasps the content but is struggling to follow along visually with the text size and bright contrast. We use a safari add-on for personal browsing that changes any website to dark mode, I wonder if this would be possible within the Recess browser?

Remove for non open-schoolers

In recess rooms, when you minimize it, it goes small when you go to another tab, but not another window, like if I were on steam, or playing a game or something, it wouldn’t be there, it’s only on google for me.
